Needham, MA — Willis M. Jeeves, 88, of Needham, died on April 24, 2014. Willis (Willa) was born to the late William and Gertrude MacWilliams, April 2, 1926, in Rexton, New Brunswick, Canada. Willa moved to Needham, Mass., at the age of three, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Needham High School and soon after married the late Harry R. Jeeves, also of Needham, Mass.
Willa was a food service manager for the Needham School System, and worked mainly at the Highland Avenue School, and the Newman School. Cooking and baking was always one of her passions, and her family always wanted more of her chocolate chip cookies. She truly loved all children, and was a virtual Mom to many young and old. Another of her passions was her love of dogs, and she deeply loved her dogs, Heidi, Sheba, and her son's yellow lab, Honey.
Willa was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Needham and was close friends with the late Pastor Harold D. Chase. She loved Cape Cod, and often vacationed in the Hyannis area, and has fond memories of her times in Buttermilk Bay. She also often visited the family farm in Rexton, New Brunswick, Canada, and loved seeing the Canadian side of the family.
Willa is survived by her only child, William and his wife, Christine of Windham, N.H. She also is survived by her sister, Beulah of Indiana; her niece, Carla, also of Indiana; four grandchildren, Christian and his wife, Shalah of Bedford, N.H., Kenneth of Lexington, Mass., Stephen of Derry, N.H., and Jodie of Brisbane, Australia; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and April Miles, both of Derry, N.H.
