Methuen, MA — Eileen M. (O'Connor) Archibald, 98, of Methuen, passed away on Monday, May 5, at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Lowell, Mass., and was the daughter of John and Christine (Toolan) O'Connor. Eileen was raised and educated in Lowell, and was a graduate of Lowell High School. Later on, she married her husband of 57 years, Joseph F. Archibald, who had passed in 2000. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting for charities, and was a parishioner of St Lucy's Church in Methuen, and was a member of Ladies Solidarity at the church.
Eileen is survived by her sons, Thomas Archibald and his wife, Kathleen, of North Chelmsford, David Archibald of Methuen, and Joseph Archibald of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Edmund O'Connor of Lowell; grandchildren, Michael, Leesa, Joseph Jr., Patrick, and Bridget. Besides her husband, Joseph, she is also predeceased by her brothers, Gerald O'Connor, John O’Connor and James O’Connor; and sisters, Sheila Early, Edna Stirk and Mary Heidenrich.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m., at St Lucy's Church in Methuen, with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lowell.
