Michael L. Clement, 57


Danvers, MA — Michael L. Clement of Haverhill, Mass., formerly of Danvers, died unexpectedly on July 23 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital. He was born in Lynn, Mass., on January 29, 1956, and was the son of Leo J. and Mary M. Clement.

Growing up in Danvers, he excelled in both the classroom and the athletic fields. He attended St. Mary’s of the Annunciation School in Danvers. He later attended St. John’s Preparatory School where he starred in football and track. After graduating, he attended Massachusetts Maritime Academy where he played football and graduated with a degree in Marine Engineering. He was an honorably discharged officer in the United States Naval Reserve and later traveled the world as a merchant marine.

He more recently worked in the power plant industry attaining the title of Chief Engineer and also graduated from the Southern New Hampshire University with a Master's degree in Business Administration. Well-known for his sense of humor, Mike had an enthusiastic and adventurous personality and lived life to its fullest. He was a student of history and the military and also loved to travel. He spent much of his free time in Hawaii and the Caribbean, sailing and scuba diving.

He is survived by his father, Leo J. Clement; his brother,

Daniel Clement and his wife, Sharon; his brother, Brian Clement and his wife, Jane; his sister, Cheryl Taylor and her husband, Norman; his nephews, Conor Clement, Ryan Clement and Nils Clement; his nieces, Lauren Clement, Annie Kate Clement and Nora Clement; as well as countless other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary M. Clement.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held on Monday evening in the Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St., Danvers, MA, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. in St. Richard Parish, Danvers.
