Andover — Sophie (Grzybowski) Zagraniczny, 91, of Andover, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Mary Immaculate Restorative Center, her home for the past two years, after a long illness.

Born in the Graniteville section of Westford to Bronislawa and Casimir Grzybowski on September 22, 1921; she was raised in Poland.

She returned to the United States after World War II and settled in Lawrence. It was there that she met her husband Erwin Zagraniczny and they married in 1948. They raised their family in the Prospect Hill section of Lawrence. Sophie worked at General Tire in Lawrence for many years until her retirement when she and Erwin moved to Andover to be closer to their grandchildren.

The widow of Erwin Zagraniczny, who died in 1992, she leaves a daughter, Julie, wife of John Ardini of Drakes Island, Wells, ME, a son Richard, a brother Zenon Grzybowski of Andover, three grandchildren; Andrew Ardini and his wife, Stacey, of South Boston, MA; Kate Ardini of South Boston, MA and Mary Butzlaff and her husband, Karsten, of Surbiton, Surrey UK; and two great grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face, Maggie Ardini and Emma Butzlaff.

The family extends special thanks to the caring staff at M.I. Nursing/Restorative Center and Dr. Phyllis N. Spieler who cared for Sophie for over 30 years.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday January 1, 2013 from 2 to 5 pm at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 9:00 am in St Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Reading, formerly of Lawrence — Helen D. (DeFusco) Rickley of Reading, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Pasqualina (Miele) and Alexander, and her sister, Evelyn. Helen had a beauty of character and personality that was noticed by everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She also devoted a good part of her life to her parish church and the elementary school children of Reading at Pearl Street and Killam Schools. She served as a volunteer teacher’s aide at the two schools for almost 30 years. She served at St. Athanasius in the old Arts and Crafts group and sang in the church choir for almost 35 years.

Atkinson, NH — Charliene P. Moore died May 16, 2013, in Pleasant Valley, N.H., after a long illness from cancer. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Aug. 16, 1945, daughter of the late Pearl and Charles Moore. She grew up in Everett, Mass., and graduated from Malden High. Charliene worked at the IRS for 20 years and for Securitas Services where her security assignments included stints at Sweetheart Plastics, Hewlitt Packard and Global Insights. She fought a long, hard battle with cancer and through it all loved her co-workers and friends. Charliene is survived by her longtime companion, Linda McAdams of Atkinson, N.H., and “Mac,” her furry little friend. Special thanks for the love and support given by the Nursing Staff from the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home and the Compassionate Hospice Care, where memorial donations may be sent in lieu of flowers to 25 Nashua Road #3, Londonderry, NH 03053.
