Haverhill — Garland V. " Vic" Combs, age 58, of Haverhill, died unexpectedly at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday, January 3, 2013. He was the loving husband of Carolyn S. (Squires) Combs.
Born in Middletown, Ohio, on November 17, 1954, son of the late Albert and Geraldine (Rose) Combs, he had been a longtime resident of Haverhill, working for many years at the Haverhill Paperboard Company. "Vic" loved working and had a great work ethic, always lending a hand with anything that needed to be done.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Parker and fiance, Barry of Kingston, N.H.; three sons, Keith W. Parker of Salem, N.H., Christopher Parker and wife, Candice of Farmington, N.H. and Matthew Parker of Haverhill; five grandchildren, who truly adored him, Dakota, Sabrina, Amber, Bridget and Alexander; a sister, Jan; two brothers, Brian and Quentin, along with several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service for relatives and friends will be held Thursday, January 10, at 11 a.m. at the Paul C. Rogers Family-Scatamacchia Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill. There will be no visiting hours and interment will be private for the family.
