Leon J. Dzioba, 76

Lawrence — Leon ‘Leo’ J. Dzioba, 76, of Lawrence passed away suddenly Thursday January 10th. Leo was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late John and Josephine (Ostrowska) Dzioba. He was a lifelong resident of the city and was educated in Holy Trinity Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School. Leo then joined the United States Marine Corp and served with honors during the Korean War.

Leo worked for the City of Lawrence for 25 years with the Department of Public Works. Leo loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed special trips to Foxwoods and the race track with his brothers and nephews. He also had a passion for gardening and wood working, and took pride in sharing the fruits of his labor and craftsmanship with family.

Leo was a member of the Arlington Athletic – Social Club, and also made many charitable contributions to Toys for Tots.

He is survived by his Brother, Chester Dzioba Sr. and his wife Theresa of Methuen, his sisters Stephanie Jarosz and Cecelia Ahern both of Lawrence.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Edwin Dzioba, Bruno Dzioba, Stella Pendak, and Helen Carson.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Tuesday January 15th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His funeral mass will take place Wednesday, January 16th at 11:00 am at St. Monica’s Church, 214 Lawrence St., Methuen. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery Lawrence.
