Merrimac — Richard J. Breen, 62, of Merrimac, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family. Born in St. John New Brunswick Canada, as a young child his family relocated to Cambridge, MA and settled in West Newbury where he was raised and educated. He was a graduate of Pentucket High School, class of 1968. Mr. Breen was employed as an inspector at General Electric Corporation in Lynn for thirty-seven years, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed motorcycle touring across the United States and Canada. He lived to ride his B.M.W. taking long rides throughout New England and Canada. When not touring he loved being with family and friends at holiday gatherings and cookouts. His survivors include his son, Richard D. Breen, of Merrimack, a daughter, Katherine A. O’Brien and her husband Sean, of Kings Beach, Tahoe, CA, dear friend, Annie Deward, of Beverly, two brothers, Joseph F. Breen, of Hampton, NH, J. Michael Breen, of Newburyport, a sister, Margaret “Marnie” Breen, of Haverhill, one cherished grandchild, Keegan O’Brien, former wife, Elaine J. Randall, of Kings Beach, CA and l nieces and a nephew.
