Chico, Calif. — Stanley Henry Kotce of Chico, Calif., died unexpectedly of natural causes on January 10, 2013. Stanley was born on September 22, 1952 and was raised in North Andover.
He was an Acolyte altar boy for St. Michael’s Church, an Eagle Scout and a member of the track team in high school. Stan was a Master Gasfitter and was a co-founder of Callahan and Kotce, an HVAC company, which was founded in the 70’s. Stan enjoyed outdoor sports such as fishing and snowmobiling and he was a gourmet cook, a talent that was rooted in his mother’s teachings and her Italian heritage. Stan had a unique sense of humor and a big heart especially when it came to his family. For many years, he lived in Moultonboro, N.H. and retired to Chico, Calif. in recent years.
Stan is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Stone of Pasadena, Calif.; son, David, his wife Deanna, and their two children, Jackson and Allison of Ontario, Calif,; son, Alex and wife, Kathy of Chico, Calif.; brothers, Kenneth and his wife, Susan of Brookfield, Conn. and Christopher and his wife, Nerrisa of Jacksonville, Fla.; father, the Rev. Stanley Kotce of Jacksonville, Fla.; and sisters-in-law, Leslie Kotce of Methuen, and Karen Churchill of Moultonboro, N.H. Stan is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Freda, and brothers Michael and Peter.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial visitation will be held at Conte Funeral Home in North Andover, on February 23, 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, as this was a favorite organization for Stan and a cause close to his heart.
