Cary, NC — James Joseph Corbett, a longtime resident of North Andover, passed away February 19 at Duke University Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 66 years old. He was the youngest of four children born to the late Joseph and Mary (Monahan) Corbett. He was raised in East Kingston NH, and graduated from Exeter High School in 1964. He attended Merrimack College, from which he graduated in 1968, and where he met his wife of 43 years Joan Coletti.
He spent all of his professional career in the seafood industry, the last twenty years as an executive with National Fish and Seafood of Gloucester MA. He was hard working, dedicated, and a loyal friend and mentor to many. He was an avid reader, enjoyed preparing meals for loved ones and was a staunch supporter of all Boston area sports teams. But above all else, Jim enjoyed his time with his family, especially his Grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife Joan of Wells ME and Cary NC, his son Matthew of Lawrence MA, son Tim and wife Michelle, of Fuquay Varina NC, sister Mary Nudd and her husband Ronald of Exeter NH, sister Cynthia Crowley of Boylston MA and Ogunquit ME, grandchildren Gavin, Liliana and Zachary, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia McGowan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday February 22, 2013 at Conte Funeral Home 17 Third St. North Andover, MA 01845. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM on Saturday February 23, at St. Michaels Parish 296 Main St, North Andover, MA 01845. Burial to follow at Ridgewood Cemetery also in North Andover.
