Methuen — John A. “Uncle John” Roberson, 60, of Methuen, Mass., passed away after a short illness on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., with his family by his side.
Born in Boston, and educated in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late John W. Roberson and Anne L. (Bonnaccorso) Roberson of Peabody, Mass. He attended St. Pious Grammar School, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. John received his bachelor's degree from Salem State College and his master's degree from Suffolk University. John was a product manager with Unicom Engineering in Canton, Mass.
He was an active member of the Minuteman Model A Club and also the Southern New Hampshire Snow Slickers. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking and spending time with his family, especially at his camp in Sebago Lake, Maine.
Besides his mother, John his survived by his wife of 21 years, Patricia A. (Kelley) Roberson, of Methuen; three sisters, Robin Lally and her husband, Paul, of Connecticut, Nancy Alfonso and her husband, Frank, of Medford, Mass., and Johanna Carregal and her husband, Joseph, of North Reading, Mass.; one brother, Bill Roberson and his wife, Sherry, of Lynn; his mother-in-law, Lillian Kelley of Methuen; and many loved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Lucy’s Church, also in Methuen.
