Amesbury, MA — Jeffrey Carl Gilbert, 23, of Amesbury, died early Sunday morning, July 7, 2013, at Anna Jaques Hospital from injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. He was the beloved son of Linda J. (Mercer) Fowler and husband, David A. Fowler Sr. of Amesbury
Born in Durham, N.C., on December 11, 1989, he moved to the Amesbury area at an early age, and was a graduate of Whittier Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill.
Jeff, a hard-working young man, was employed by Midway Contractors in Seabrook, N.H., working on road construction in the local area.
Jeff had a great personality and sense of humor, with a winning smile that captured your attention. But it was his zest for life that was most remarkable. From the thrill, excitement and freedom of riding his motorcycle, to his love of snowboarding, love of animals, and above all else, love of family and friends, especially his nephew, Caden and his dog, Cado, he always considered himself to be quite blessed.
In addition to his mother and stepfather of Amesbury, he is survived by his sister, Tiffany Vincent and husband, Chad, of Merrimac; his nephews, Caden of Merrimac, and Shane of Amesbury; stepbrother, David Fowler, and wife, Krystal, of Amesbury; stepsister, Sarah Marchisio and husband, Anthony, of Amesbury; his dearest and closest friend, Matt Scalesse; several aunts, uncles, cousins, many dear friends; and his girlfriend, Samantha, all of whom have been truly devastated by his loss and appreciate the outpouring of sympathy and support from their friends and the community.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation hours will be held at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home on Friday, July 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. Private interment will be at a later date at Bartlett Cemetery, Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, in honor of Jeffrey’s love of animals, donations in his memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
