SALISBURY — Mary Beth Fleming, 54, of Salisbury Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by love and her family at the Lawrence General Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1956 in Lawrence, daughter to the late Eugene L. and Margaret C. (Flanagan) Fleming. Mary Beth was educated in Saint Rita's Grammar School and was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School. She was also a graduate of Fitchburg State and Lesley University in Boston.
Mary Beth was a parishioner of Saint Monica's Church in Methuen and of the Star of the Sea in Salisbury. She taught at Saint Margaret's School in Lowell, and Special Needs Groups in Lawrence, Andover, and Pittsburgh. She was very involved in the organization of the various events for Special Olympics.
She had a great love for animals, enjoyed arts and crafts, loved to travel and especially loved her family.
Her family members include David (Bob) Fleming and his wife Mary of Methuen, Edward (Ted) Fleming and his wife Ethel of Londonderry, N.H., Catherine Fleming, SND of Danvers, Margaret (Magee) Murphy and her husband Paul of Danvers, Loretta (Lori) Fleming, SND of Lowell, Rita-Gene Landers and her husband Bill of Ocala, Fla., Michel Phaneuf and her husband Marc of Hudson, N.H., Christine Lees and her husband Bob of Londonderry, N.H. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her friend David Herzog of Pittsburgh.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Monica's Church in Methuen. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence.
