Warren Frederick Kearn, 90


Andover, MA — Warren Frederick Kearn Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, at the age of 90, at Wingate of Andover. He was a dedicated and loyal husband, father and son. Mr. Kearn was born and raised in West Andover and lived there all his life. He was born to Frederick J. C. Kearn and Mary E. (O'Connor) Kearn on Haggetts Pond Road in Andover. He was one of three sons and four daughters.

Mr. Kearn attended Andover Public Schools and graduated from Punchard High School, Class of 1944.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He re-enlisted in the Navy Reserves during the Korean War and served for 30 years, retiring in 1983.

Mr. Kearn was a supervisor at Western Electric Corporation in North Andover for over 30 years, and was dedicated to military organizations until his death including, American Legion Post 8 in Andover, the V.F.W., NERA (Naval Enlisted Reserve Association), and the Elks. He marched in the Andover Memorial Day Parade and Veteran's Day services every year. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover, and a charter member of Council 10877 K of C.

Warren was an avid baseball fan and a season ticket holder to the Lowell Spinners for 13 years. It was a thrill for him to finally see the Boston Red Sox win a world series in his life time. He enjoyed playing golf, especially participating in the annual Kearn outing and golf tournament for over 40 years.

Warren loved working around his home and in his vegetable garden. He was a "jack of all trades" and a talented carpenter. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed playing his harmonica. He was loved by all who knew him.

Mr. Kearn is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Demers) Kearn of Andover; his son, Stephen W. Kearn of Andover; his granddaughter, Erin E. Kearn of Andover; as well as three sisters; and two brothers.

Mr. Kearn is survived by his sister, Marjorie Grant of Quitman, Ga. He is also survived by his children, Ronald C. Kearn of Andover, Warren F. Kearn Jr. and his wife, Lorraine, of Milford, N.H., Louise E. Emerson and her husband, Frank, of York, Maine, Jane Bistany and her husband, David, of Methuen, and his son, Charles R. Kearn II and his wife, Brenda, also of Methuen. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; as well as many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday from, 4 to 8 p.m., at the St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 11 a.m., also at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Burial with military honors will follow at West Parish Cemetery, Andover.
