Methuen — Giuseppina (Josephine) Leone of Andover, Mass., formerly of Lawrence, Mass., died January 20, 2014, at the age of 96. She was born at her home on Essex Street in Lawrence on December 30, 1917.
She was the wife of the late Santo Leone. She was the mother of Maurina Finocchiaro and her late husband, Giuseppe, of Methuen, Mass., Caterina Henderson and her husband, William, of Andover, Mass., and Joseph Leone and his wife Therese of Methuen. She was the nana, “grandmother,” of Maria, Anthony, Jody, Josephine, William, Joseph, Nicholas, and Daniel. She was the nana “great grandmother” of Rebecca, Rachel, Patrick, Harold, William, Madison, and Olivia. She had four sisters and two brothers, all deceased, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and designing clothes for family and friends. Giuseppina loved spending time with her friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed the time she spent at her cottage in Salisbury, Mass. She was a member of St. Rita Sodality and Holy Rosary Church.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 24, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Saturday, January 25, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will be in St. Mary's-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, she would be honored by donations in her name to the Residence Council Activities, Wingate Nursing Home, 80 Andover St., Andover, MA, 01810.
