North Andover — Mary Ann “Tisha” Weigel, 80, passed away July 20, in North Andover, Mass., after a long illness. Mary Ann was a proud, lifelong North Andover resident, and graduated from Johnson High School in 1951. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English from Merrimack College in 1955. She married her longtime sweetheart, Gustave A. Weigel, in 1958, raised three children, and worked as a secretary for the social studies department and later as a substitute teacher at North Andover High School, from 1973 to 1983. Mary Ann enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games, reading, the Patriots, fried seafood, and socializing with friends and family.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond N. and Margaret (Costello) Maynard; and her husband, Gustave A. Weigel. Mary Ann is survived by her brother, Raymond M. Maynard and his wife, Ann, of Nashua, N.H.; son, David Weigel of North Andover; daughters, Carol DiFranco and her husband, Joseph, of Waltham, Mass., and Margaret Weigel and her husband, Rick Scott, of Medford, Mass.; one grandson, Nicholas Weigel of North Andover and Methuen, Mass.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover for the loving support and good care they provided in Mary Ann's final years.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 24, at 10 a.m., in St. Michael Church, North Andover. Interment will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5 to 9 p.m., in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
