Andover — Milton“Uncle Miltie” Heffron, 96, of Andover, died at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday morning.
Mr. Heffron was born and raised in Lawrence and had been a resident of Andover for over 60 years. He served honorably as a 1st Lt. in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated Heffron Asphalt Corporation & Heffron Materials in Wilmington, and was a longtime member of Temple Emanuel of Andover. Mr. Heffron and his late wife, Anna, were well known for their generosity and philanthropy in both the civic and religious communities of Andover.
He was the devoted husband of 68 years to the late Anna (Perlstein) Heffron; beloved father to Kenneth and Sally Heffron and Debra and the late Craig Williams; cherished grandfather of Leigh Heffron and Todd Berberian, Jamie and Saulius Dambauskas, Abbi and Chris Lione, and Emily and Jeremy Daviau; proud great-grandfather of Ryder, Gavin, Jackson, Viktoria and Lukas; and dear brother of the late Rose Kaplan, Hyman and Isadore Heffron.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road, off Route 133, Andover, are on Thursday, July 10, at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lawrence. Condolence calls may be made following the interment at the Andover Country Club, 60 Canterbury St., Andover, until 6 p.m.
