Haverhill, MA — Anthony James Pasquale, 97, longtime Haverhill resident, passed peacefully on Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Carmella (Morelli) Pasquale of Portland, Maine, who died in 1949, and Carrie (Francescone) Pasquale, who died in 1994.
Born in Haverhill on April 21, 1917, he was the eldest child of the late Sabatino and Josephine (Gulia) Pasquale. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary and Concetta; and his brother, Alfred.
An honorary, lifetime member of the Carpenters Union, Mr. Pasquale was a successful building contractor, well known in New England. After many years supervising the building of schools and other commercial construction, he started his own business, Tyler Construction, in 1954, and retired in 1997, at the age of 80, whereupon the Haverhill Gazette ran a feature story on him titled “Mr. Construction.”
Mr. Pasquale was a daily communicant at St. James Parish in Haverhill, where, after his retirement, until age 95, he donated his expertise and many hours of loving labor for numerous building projects.
Those left behind to cherish him are his three sons, Anthony S. Pasquale and wife, Heidi, of Haverhill, Peter Pasquale and wife, Jeannette, of Groveland, and Michael Pasquale of Haverhill; Dana Pasquale; his two grandsons, Matthew and his wife, Karen, and Andrew and his wife, Molly; his two great-grand daughters, River and Sage; along with several nieces, nephews and very dear friends.
Mr. Pasquale was very devoted to family and had a heart of gold. He positively affected the lives of many people.
