Hampstead, NH — Thomas A. Shallow II, 63, of Hampstead, N.H., passed away Wednesday morning, July 9, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Tom was born in Philadelphia, Pa., April 15, 1951 to the late Thomas A. and Frances Pauline (Danila) Shallow. He was a 1970 graduate of Princess Anne High School, Virginia Beach Virginia where he met his wife, Starr.
Mr. Shallow worked for Comcast, in a variety of positions, for over 20 years, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, woodworking and tinkering with whatever he could find including renovating a coach bus into an RV.
Tom was very involved in his community. He acted as the video and audio engineer and the Senior High Youth Group leader at the Hampstead Congregational Church where he led many Senior High Mission trips and taught teens to serve others through dedication, hard work and power tools. Tom enjoyed helping his daughter and the Timerlane players build sets and props for the last six years. For many years, he worked avidly on both the Hampstead and Plaistow cable committees. In previous years, he had been a youth football coach for the Tornados, a past president of the Plaistow Lions Club and a regional Vice President for the New Hampshire Special Olympics.
He is survived by his wife of 44 loving years, Starr (Riggs) Shallow; his mother, Frances Pauline Shallow of Plaistow; daughters, Kathleen and her husband Barry Blood Jr. of Derry, N.H., and Alison and her wife, Danielle Batey of Amherst, N.H.; a son, Thomas Shallow III and his girlfriend, Sharon Lake, of Sandown, N.H.; a brother, Christopher and his wife, Cindy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Patricia Riley of Plaistow, N.H.; two grandchildren, Sophia Blood and Xander Batey as well as several nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his sister, Joanne Shallow.
