SOUTH LAWRENCE — Miss Elizabeth Margaret Watson, 104, a longtime resident of South Lawrence passed away Saturday.

A native of this city; she was the daughter of Solomon and Margaret (Ryan) Watson. She was raised and educated in the area of Newport, Vermont by her maternal aunt Katherine (Ryan) Beaubard and uncle Edward Beaubard. She attended Boston State College and Northeastern University.

Early in her career, she was an employee of the Federal Government with the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. and with the U. S. Naval Department in Boston. Later, she joined the staff at the Lawrence Public Library and retired in the capacity of administrative assistant in the early 1970s. In retirement she warmly received client families and served as receptionist at the John J. Hart Jr. Funeral Home, opposite St. Patrick Church, South Lawrence.

Miss Watson was affectionately known to many as Becky and was a longtime active parishioner of St. Patrick Parish. Her affiliations included Our Lady's Sodality of St. Patrick Parish, St. Clare League of Catholic Women, Division 8 Ancient Order of Hibernians and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Bon Secours Hospital where she volunteered for several years.

She is survived by many loving cousins including Dr. William R. Hart of Hampstead, NH, Leo A. Hart of Windham, NH, Katherine A. Hart of Andover and their families. She is predeceased by sisters Gertrude Watson, Adella Watson, Mildred Kelleher and by her niece and nephew, Margaret Kelleher Gillam and Joseph Kelleher.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from The Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, opposite St. Patrick Church, South Lawrence. Calling hours, Tuesday, November 27, from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Patrick Church.
