Arlene Driscoll- Peltier, 91


Haverhill — Arlene (George) Drsicoll-Peltier, 91, of Haverhill, died Thursday morning, November 15, at the Stevens-Bennett Home, Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill, December 24, 1920, daughter of the late Milton and Clarissa (Hall) George.

Educated in the Haverhill school system, Mrs. Peltier graduated from Haverhill High School and, during the 1950’s, worked at the polls at the former Portland St. School. More recently, Arlene was employed for over 20 years at the former Hoyt & Worthen. Arlene cherished time spent with her family, collecting dolls, crocheting and loved to dance. She also enjoyed time spent at Old Orchard Beach and Salisbury Beach. She was a member of AMVETS Post 147, Haverhill, VFW Lorraine Post 29, Haverhill, and the American Legion Carl Davis Post 4, Plaistow, N.H. and was a former member of First Baptist Church, Haverhill.

A resident of the Stevens-Bennett Home for the last seven years, she enjoyed the many activities and day trips with the other residents and danced every chance she got. Her family would like to thank the caring and dedicated staff of Stevens-Bennet Home for the exemplary care given to Arlene during her time there.

She was the wife of the late, Burton F. Driscoll who died in 1960, Edward Wasial who died in 1974 and Charles Peltier who died in 2005; sister of the late, Eleanor Thornhill; mother of the late, Martin and Burton Driscoll, Jr.; mother-in-law of the late, Walter Wall and Thomas Masse. Her survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Wall of Haverhill, Beverly Masse of Colebrook, N.H.; two sons, Russell Driscoll and his wife, Marjorie of East Hampstead, N.H., Donald Driscoll and his fiancé, Joleen Francis of Haverhill; two daughters-in-law, Joyce Driscoll-Heisler, Judy Driscoll-Haynes; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her graveside service, Thursday, November 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
