Lawrence — Blanche M. Pomerleau, 93, of Lawrence, died on Sunday June 22, 2014, at Prescott House, North Andover. Mrs. Pomerleau was born and raised in Lawrence, and was a graduate of St. Anne’s School, Lawrence. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish, Lawrence, and was also a member of The Third Order of Mary. Blanche volunteered much of her time with the Eucharistic Ministers of the parish, visiting and giving communion to the elderly and the shut-ins. She also volunteered many years at Lawrence General Hospital, visiting and bringing baskets to many of the patients at the hospital.
The widow of Albert J. Pomerleau, her family members include her daughters, Arlene M. Hajjar of Londonderry, N.H., Anne Marie and her husband, Leo Mottram of Lawrence, and Joanne and her husband, Jimmie Pritts Jr. of Methuen. She also leaves her sons, Albert J. Pomerleau Jr. and his wife, Joline, of Methuen, Kenneth J. Pomerleau of Methuen, Donald J. Pomerleau of Salem, N.H., and David J. Pomerleau of Methuen. She leaves her sister, Irene Castonguay of Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Blanche’s family would like to thank her friends and the staffs at the Prescott House and Life’s Choice Hospice for their kind and compassionate care .
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., at The Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home, 298 S. Broadway, Lawrence. A funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 27, at 10 a.m., in St. Michael’s Church, North Andover. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
