Weare, NH — Joseph M. “Mike” Duquette, 58, died on January 17, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., and had been a resident of Weare, N.H., since 2000. He was the son of George J. and Dorothy (McCarron) Duquette. Mike had been employed as a sterile processing technician and purchasing agent with Lindner Dental. He also owned his own small business, Safe Home Chimney Sweep. He was an avid ballroom dancer, who also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was a talented painter. A veteran, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years, Mike had a deep love for his country. He was a member of the VFW Post of Salem, N.H.
Mike was a member of the New Hampshire Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association, Weare Chamber of Commerce, and Bass Anglers Sportsman Society.
Members of the family include his fiancée, Elizabeth “Betty” Ashooh of Weare; two children, Michelle Duquette and her wife, Vanessa White-Duquette of Haverhill, Mass.; and Samantha Ross and her fiancé, Scott Langlois of Sanborton, N.H.; several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and three grandchildren, Blaise, Angelleah and Dresden.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Monday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast St., Goffstown. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, at 1 p.m., in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
