Atkinson, NH — Marcia E. (Dillon) Lydick, 73, of Atkinson, N.H., formerly of North Andover and Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Prescott House, surrounded by her loving family. Marcia was born in Lawrence, and was the daughter of the Late William and Dorothy (Carr) Dillon. She was raised and educated in Lawrence.
Marcia and her husband owned a well-established photography business in which she earned many awards by the Professional Photographers Association for outstanding wedding portraits. She was the first female wedding photographer in Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She was an artist with the camera, as well as an amazing talent with her freehand paintings. She was a member and past president of the Quota International Club. She volunteered for several years on the Bon Secours surgical daycare unit. She loved to bowl and was on bowling leagues for many years in the past. An avid sports enthusiast, she loved "her boys," the Boston Red Sox, never missing a game. She also loved to golf. Before her illness, you could always find Marcia at the Merrimack Golf Course with her husband, or her beloved friend, Marie Concemi. She spent the winter months in Florida, rarely missing a day of golf. Marcia was a devoted grandmother and loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She spent every Wednesday with them shopping at the mall, always ending the day with lunch at Friendly's. Being a Disney World fanatic, she vacationed at Disney with her grandchildren on countless occasions. She loved being a "kid with the kids" there. As her grandchildren grew, she was so very proud of each and every one of their achievements. She was also fortunate enough to share in the lives of her three, young great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Don Lydick, of Atkinson; her daughters, Jane E. Staid and her husband, Robert, of Danville, N.H., Joanne M. Fleming and her husband, Chris, of Methuen, and Joyce R. Censullo and her husband, Donald, of Haverhill; and her son, Donald Lydick Jr. of Stillwater, Mich. She also leaves her seven cherished grandchildren, Marissa Kaslow, Amanda Cox, Kelly Staid, Kathleen Staid, Jonathan Lydick, Julia Censullo, and Mitchell Censullo; and her three great-grandchildren, Madelynne Rose Cox, Dylan Patrick Cox and Kaiden Daniel Beard. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Beth Dillon of Hanahan, S.C.; and her brother-in-law, George Lydick of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and many cousins, and nieces and nephews. Marcia was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Bouchard; and brother, William Dillon Jr.
