Bradford — Stella Kavazis, 92, of Bradford, died Thursday morning, Feb. 13, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, February 19, 1921, daughter of the late Krallis and Helen (Chiknas) Kavazis.
Educated in the Haverhill school system, Ms. Kavazis graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1940.
She was employed at the former Puritan Fruit, Amesbury, Colonial Bow, Haverhill as a Floor Lady, Peters Sweet Shop, Merrimack St., Haverhill and until her retirement was a Tester at Lucent Technologies for over 30 years.
Ms. Kavazis was a member of the New Outlook Pioneers, past president of ELPIS, past president of GAPA, past president of the Daughters of Penelope, and a member of the Haverhill Rhea Chapter.
An avid reader, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida, playing bingo and cheering for the Red Sox.
Stella was an extremely loving and dedicated aunt, great aunt and Godmother. She was exceptionally compassionate and generous to her family, friends and Church. Stella will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her sister, Irene K. Stathis and her husband, William C. Stathis.
Her survivors include a niece, Deborah A. Moynihan and her husband, William J., of Haverhill; a nephew, Dr. Curtis W. Stathis and his wife, Barbara A., of Atkinson, NH; two great-nieces, Atty. Kristen M. Stathis of Charlestown, Kay-Elaine S. Moynihan of Haverhill; a great-nephew, Dr. Jeffrey C. Stathis of Boston; her cousins, Charles Chiknas of Bradford, Louis Janos of Seabrook, NH, Mary Gerros of Kentucky, Anna Mamakos of Newburyport; three Godchildren, Stratis Bogannis of Athens, Greece, Deborah Moynihan of Haverhill and Michael Mamakos of Bradford.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral on Monday, February 17, at noon from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. in the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter St., Haverhill.
