Methuen — Theresa R. (Marcello) Riccio, 94, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, at Lawrence General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gennaro J. Riccio.
She was born and raised in Methuen, and was the daughter of the late Louis and Annie (Ricci) Marcello. Theresa was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School, Class of 1939. She took pride in raising her children for many years, and was later employed as a secretary at Raytheon, before retiring in 1980.
As a devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Lucy Parish and enjoyed being involved in the Lady's Sodality. She also loved cooking for her family, crocheting, playing cards with her friends, and going to the beach.
Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her most precious moments were the times spent with her close friends and family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was known by all who knew her as being a very loving, generous, and caring person.
Theresa is survived by her sons, Robert Riccio Sr. and his wife, Paula, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Gerald Riccio of Salisbury, Mass.; her grandchildren, Tracy Harbour and her husband, Jason, of Havana, Fla., Robert Riccio Jr. and his wife, Cara, of Groton, Mass., Christopher Riccio and his wife, Candice, of Bedford, N.H., Cara Costa and her husband, John, of Haverhill, Mass., and Allyson O’Malley and her husband, Frank, of Hudson, Mass.; and her beloved great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Salvatore, Aidan, Johnny, John, Lauren, Jake, Brian, Dylan, Timmy, Matthew, Andrew, and Daniel. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and very close friends, and will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, February 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 19, at 11 a.m., in St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
