Lawrence, MA — David S. Silva, 71, passed away at Holy Family Hospital on Saturday. David was born and educated in Lawrence and was the son of Millie (Faro) Silva and the late Manuel Silva.
David had charisma that earned him the nickname "The Legend." He was a phenomenal dancer and in the 1970s they would call him "Barbarino" as both his looks and dance moves simulated those of John Travolta. He was also one of the best pool players in the valley. David enjoyed working for his father-in-law, the late Charles Maroun for over 30 years at Maroun Bros., of Lawrence. He shared a special bond with his children. He loved watching movies at home and enjoyed spending time with friends while out.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years Helen (Maroun) Silva of Methuen; his mother, Millie (Faro) Silva of Methuen; his sons, Brett of Lowell; Daryl C. and his wife, Lisa, of Methuen; daughters, Tanya of Lawrence; twins, Krystal of Methuen and Zena of Lawrence. David also had 10 loving grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Brenda, wife of Anthony Cappuchi, of Salem, N.H. He also left many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA 01841. His funeral service will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
