Georgetown — Benjamin A. Peabody, 83, of Georgetown, passed away June 13, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill, Mass., after a long illness.
Ben was born November 29, 1929, in South Groveland, Mass.,and was the son of the late Benjamin J. and Winifred V. (Bradley) Peabody. He was a graduate of Groveland High School, Class of 1948, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for one year, and was recalled during the Korean War, from which he was honorably discharged in 1953. Ben worked for the former Western Electric Co., then AT&T and later Lucent Technologies, from which he retired after 35 years.
Ben leaves his beloved wife, Audrey J. (MacLennan) Peabody. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jean Marie Rogers. Ben leaves his daughters Ellen M. Collins and husband, Thomas of Merrimack, N.H., Maryann Dineen and husband, Daniel of Georgetown, Nancy A. Primo of Newton, N.H.; and sons, Robert A. Peabody and wife, Karen of Haverhill, Mass., Michael A. Peabody, and Benjamin J. Peabody, both of Haverhill. He also leaves 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Merton E. Roberts Jr. and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown.
