Katherine T. (O'Keefe) Levis, 96


North Andover — Katherine T. (O’Keefe) Levis, 96, a resident of North Andover, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Nevins Nursing Center in Methuen. She was born on November 24, 1916, in Lawrence, Mass., to the late James and Alice (McGoldrick) O’Keefe.

Raised and educated in Lawrence, Katherine was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Following high school she was employed by the Champion International Paper Mill for several years followed by her employment at Merrimack College where she was a caregiver to the clergy residing on campus. Katherine was a member of the Lady Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence as well as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years.

Kay loved Mass and saying the rosary. She enjoyed many years spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retirement, she loved day trips and treasured a few vacations in Ireland. She enjoyed visiting relatives at Seabrook Beach and taking long walks around North Andover.

Katherine will be deeply missed by her children, Joseph Levis and his wife, Marianne, of North Andover, Mary Ann Powderly and her husband, Kenneth, of Billerica and Clare Levis of Ocala, Fla.; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Eugene “Cy” Levis Jr.; son, Eugene Levis III; and siblings, James, John, and Michael O’Keefe and Margaret Keough.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Friday, September 27, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, MA 01845. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover, followed by burial at St. Mary’s-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
