Methuen, MA — Marilyn A. Mikula, 73, of Methuen, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.
Ms. Mikula was born in Methuen on November 9, 1939. The daughter of the late William and Anna (Kaupinis) Mikula, she grew up in Lawrence and attended the Hood Grammar School. The family moved to Methuen, where in 1957, Marilyn graduated Tenney High School.
Ms. Mikula was employed as a dental assistant by Dr. Contarino, also the Methuen Animal Hospital, Russem's Clothing Store, and Holy Family Hospital in the billing department. Before her illness, her great joy every winter was planning her flower garden, and she looked forward to cultivating an array of flowers. Her concern about animal cruelty led her to donate to animal shelters across the country.
Marilyn is survived by her aunt, Mary (Kaupinis) Tomaski of Pelham, N.H.; her cousins, Joan Rademacher and her husband, Ted, John Stackelin and his wife, Judith, Linda Berry of Pelham, and William Kaupinis of Methuen; and her dear friend, Joyce Filomia of Methuen.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 9, at 11 a.m., at the Boles Memorial-Baron-McAuliffe-Yameen Funeral Home, 184 Jackson Street, Lawrence, Mass., 978-686-0386. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, from 10 to 11a.m., at the funeral home.
