Methuen — Derek C. Hall, 28, of Methuen, passed away peacefully after a heroic two week long battle with a rare brain infection on October 8, 2013, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Derek was the devoted father to Trevor Hall, the beloved son of Carolyn Hall, and the loving brother of Tiffany (Hall) Oliveira. Derek attended Methuen public schools and became certified in several technical fields. He was an entrepreneur as well as a hard working employee of several companies throughout his life, including following in his father's footsteps working at Textron Defense Systems. Derek's true passion was creating and producing music through his company Disturbed Productions.
Derek touched the lives of every person he met. He had a huge heart that genuinely cared about all his family and friends, and Derek was the loyal type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help a stranger. Derek had an unforgettable smile and laugh, and was known by all for having a hilarious and unique sense of humor that made him the funny memorable man everyone loved. His passions in life were first and foremost his son, music, spending time at the beach with his family, and sharing good times with his numerous friends. Derek will live on forever in our hearts and his spirit will be with us for all time. He will be watching over his son as Trevor's guardian angel.
Derek is survived by his beloved three year old son, Trevor Hall. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn M. Hall of Methuen, sister, Tiffany (Hall) Oliveira and her husband, Philip, of Maine. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Hall Jr. of Methuen. Derek is survived by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Theresa Fritzler of North Andover, as well as paternal grandmother, Joan Hall of Methuen. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he dearly loved as well as his best friends, Mark, Sal, Derek, and Phil who were like brothers to him. Derek will be deeply missed by all.
