Brentwood, NH — Eugene Raymond Guilmet, 66, passed away June 18, 2013, after a courageous fight with kidney cancer. As he was in life, Gene was surrounded by those who loved him.
Gene was born September 16, 1946, to Lucian and Althea (La Roche) Guilmet. As a boy he loved fishing and camping. He graduated from Tenney High School in Methuen, Mass., in 1964 and enlisted in the Navy where he trained as a communications expert and was stationed in Rota, Spain. Upon his discharge, he attended Salem State and graduated with a degree in business. His experience in the Navy proved more beneficial than he thought as he later founded Seacoast Electronics in 1998 and remained the owner and president until his retirement in 2008. As a semi-retiree, he pursued his realtor license and worked with Tom Fabisak Realty.
As anyone who knew Gene could attest, he loved his retro-inspired Heritage Softail, and his "+HD+" license plates. His love for his home life, particularly his backyard "slice of paradise," that he built with his wife, was always at the forefront of his life. Gene was a staunch Patriots fan who enjoyed cooking delicious meals and spending time with his friends, laughing and telling stories.
Those who will fiercely miss Gene and his sarcastically wonderful sense of humor include his beautiful wife and best friend of 25 years, Dianne; sisters, Jacqueline Nilosek and Paris Samataro; in-laws, Lorraine and Charles Leslie; nieces and nephews, Charles, Stephen, Charles and Susannah; "children" Charley (woof), Buddy (meow) and Holly (meow); and many, many friends including Craig, Debbie, Tommy, Teresa, Danny, Sharon and Chip, the best neighbors ever and their Abenaqui family.
He was predeceased by his parents and the second love of his life, Margaret (woof).
