Margaret Kruschwitz, 95

Derry, NH — Margaret (Kelleher) Kruschwitz, 95, of Derry, N.H., passed away peacefully Friday, June 21, with her daughter by her side at The Warde Health Center, Windham, N.H. She was born in Haverhill, and was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Condon) Kelleher, and the widow of Warren V. Kruschwitz, who died in 2003. Margaret was educated in Methuen and was a graduate of Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, Class of 1935, and later from MacIntosh Business School in Lawrence. For many years, she and her late husband were the proprieters of the Meadowbrook Laundry in North Andover. After retirement, they spent 17 winters at the Orange Acres Mobile Home Park in Sarasota, Fla. While she lived in Haverhill, Margaret was an active member of the Hibernians. She was a communicant at St. Anne Church in Hampstead, where she was organist for many years.

Margaret loved life, her church and her family.

She had a quick wit and a beautiful smile that made everyone she met happy to be in her company. She loved to play the piano and entertain. "The Laughing Song" was always a favorite as her laughter was contagious.

Margaret loved to lead a parade and would do so on any occasion to the delight of young children and the embarrassment of her teenage daughter. She always welcomed family and friends, especially when hostessing cookouts at her home on Big Island Pond. During their years in Sarasota, Margaret loved taking part in the Senior Follies, and realized one of her lifelong ambitions of playing the triangle.

After Warren died, Margaret moved in with her daughter Eileen, husband, Sal and devoted yellow Lab, Jake. She never tired of looking at the lake in all seasons and marveling at the beauty God created outside her front door. In 2011, Margaret moved into assisted living at the Warde Center in Windham. She loved and was loved by the residents and staff who cared for her, prayed with her, and helped her pass into eternal life. She enjoyed the monthly birthday parties and teas. She will always be remembered as "The Queen" for her regal wave, her hats and her gold shoes.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Eileen Gioe and her husband, Sal of Derry, N.H.; her four grandchildren, Amy (Kruschwitz) Tarnowski of Raleigh, N.C., William Kruschwitz Jr. of New York City, Steven Gioe of Salem, N.H., and Vanessa (Gioe) Gregoire of Manchester, N.H.; five great-grandchildren, Abbey, Adam and Michael J. Tarnowski, and Luke and Joesph Gregoire; a niece and several great-nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her son, William J. Kruschwitz and her sister Elizabeth Pricollo.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to gather for her Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 29, at 11 a.m., in St. Anne Catholic Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, N.H. Calling hours will be prior to the Mass at the church from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
