Lawrence — Anna K Arven, 96, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center. Anna was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Romaniec) Kornichuk. She was the widow of David G. (Henry) Arven. Anna was raised and educated in Dracut.
Anna worked as a waitress in Boston, the Berkshires, and in Miami, Fla., where she and her husband lived until his death in 1966. She moved back to the Lawrence area in 1967, working at the Red Tavern in Methuen until her retirement. Anna enjoyed travelling in her younger years, taking numerous trips at home and abroad. She also was an avid bingo and pool player.
Anna is survived by a nephew, Thomas Champy and his wife, Carolyn, of Dracut; and nieces, Donna McGrath and her husband, Gerry, of Clifton, Va., and Brenda Endelos and her husband, James, of Dracut; 1 grandniece, 2 grandnephews and 2 great-grandnephews. Anna was predeceased by her siblings, Nancy Kotyla, George Kornichuk, John Kornichuk and Mildred Champy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Monday July 1, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
