Stella M. Azzarelli, 88

Haverhill — Stella M. (Petralia) Azzarelli, 88, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Torrisi) Petralia.

Stella was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School and MacIntosh Business School. She worked in area mills as a stitcher, for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover as a data processor, for Nevin’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Methuen as a nurse’s aid and also worked in home healthcare.

Stella was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen; a member of St. Lucy’s Lady Sodality and was a member at the Methuen Senior Center where she sang with the Happy Heart Singers.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony Azzarelli and her siblings, Nellie Zazzo, Marie Lipfert and Pasquale Petralia.

Stella is survived by her three daughters, Angela M. Page of Amesbury, Marie A. Tilton and her husband, David of Meredith, N.H. and Diane M. Marrone and her husband, Alfred of Sandown, N.H. and her sister, Helen Androchuk of Brentwood, N.H. There are also seven grandchildren, Kari, Robert, David, Daniel, Anthony, Nicholas, and Stephanie, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Stella's niece, Angela Sakakeeny for her support and kindness to the Family and to the staff at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 5, from 4-8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
