Fremont, N.H. — Dante “Butch” Tiberio, 76, formerly of Methuen, passed away November 29, 2012 at his home in Fremont, following a long illness.
Butch was born in Methuen Nov. 15, 1936 the son of Alexander and Caroline (Fiato) Tiberio.
Butch owned and operated Tiberio’s Garage on Marston St. in Lawrence for many years. Not only was Butch an avid race car fan, he also drove at the Pines, Hudson, and Star Speedways in the late 50’s and 60’s. In later years he owned the #2 Pro-Stock, driven by Bobby Cabral, winning two back to back races, one of these being the Star Classic.
He was predeceased by two brothers, James Tiberio, Alexander Tiberio; a sister, Georgiana Tiberio Pandelena.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Cecile Tiberio of Fremont; his son, Danny J. Tiberio and his wife, Phyllis of Methuen; his daughter, Judith Tiberio-Ritter and her husband, Tracy of Fremont; grandchildren, Danny J. Tiberio Jr., Cynthia Tiberio, Matthew Tiberio, John-Michael Ritter, Jaimeson Dante Ritter; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Tiberio of Massachusettes , Joseph Tiberio and his wife, Linda of Berwick, Maine and Michael Tiberio and his wife, Joyce of Methuen. Several nieces and nephews. Also his pets Kelly, Tippy and Mia.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 8 at his home in Fremont from 2 to 5 p.m.
