Viola (Quickley) Moses, 80


Haverhill, MA — Viola (Quickley) Moses, 80, of Haverhill passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Haverhill on Oct. 23, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Caesar and Viola (Schencks) Quickley.

Viola was educated in the Haverhill schools, graduating from Haverhill High School, Class of 1950. She was employed at the former Western Electric, and for over 25 years was an administrative assistant at the Haverhill Housing Authority, from which she retired.

Viola was a very kind and caring person. She received those qualities from her mother who she adored and with whom she shared her namesake. Her greatest achievement was her devotion to raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her children, Karen A. Moses of Methuen, Brian L. Moses and his wife, Kelly, John B. Moses, Roger E. Moses and his wife, Natalie, all of Haverhill, and James R. Moses and his wife, Jacquelyn of Andover; her brother, Howard Quickley of Bradford; her sisters, Mary Kee of Haverhill, Pearl Perry and Janet Carter, both of Bradford; her grandchildren, Brianna, Brian, Olivia, Felicia, Elijah, Jessica, Jared, and Jayden; as well as several nieces and nephews. Viola was the sister of the late Harold, Anna, Richard and his wife, Rosalie Quickley. She was also predeceased by the father of her children, Albert F. Moses.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Monday, July 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Funeral Services will be private, with interment in the Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill.
