Las Vegas, NV — Raymond J. Allen, 87, formerly of Haverhill, Mass., and Plaistow, N.H., died unexpectedly in North Las Vegas Hospital in Nevada on June 17.
He was born in Haverhill on April 2, 1926, and was the son of the late Joseph Allen and Rose Mareau. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Florence (Lefebrve) Allen.
His survivors include his daughter, Sandra Loeschner and her husband, Richard, of Windham, N.H., Donna Smith and her husband, Mickey, of North Las Vegas, Roseann Balcerzak and her husband, David, of Michigan; his son, James Allen of Haverhill; his brother, Joseph Allen and his wife, Rose Marie, of Maryland.
During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines. After the war, he worked at Hamel Leather in Haverhill and later retired from Raytheon Co.
He loved his children and taught them to be farmers, carpenters, and all-around good people. He loved his nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
