Haverhill — Katherine “Kitty” Zatzos, 87, of Haverhill, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Hanna Duston Healthcare Center.
She was born in Haverhill on Aug. 12, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Peter and Athena (Kamberis) Tzatzos.
Kitty was educated in the Haverhill schools, graduating from Haverhill High School, Class of 1943. She was one of the first employees at the former Western Electric in Haverhill, retiring from there after 40 years of service.
She was a member of the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill and its Philoptochos Society, a former member of the Haverhill Country Club, and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Kitty was predeceased by her brother, James P. Zatzos, who passed away in 1996.
She is survived by her two brothers, Alexander P. Zatzos of Haverhill, and Angelo P. Zatzos of Atlanta, Ga.; two nephews, James Zatzos of Bridgewater, and Peter Zatzos of Atlanta; and two nieces, Angela Zatzos of Bridgewater, and Stacie Zatzos of Atlanta.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday morning, July 10, at 10 a.m., from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St., Haverhill. Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Holy Apostles Sts.
