Salem, NH — Edward A. Hatem, 90, of Salem, New Hampshire died on Monday December 23, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill. Mr. Hatem was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and has lived in Salem for the past 46 years. Before retirement, he worked as a supervisor at Western Electric Company, N. Andover. He served with The US Army during WW II. Ed was an avid baseball fan and, at one time, he was called up for tryouts with The Boston Red Sox.
His family members include his wife, Helen M.(Tamer) Hatem and his daughter, Nancy M. and her husband Gregory Cody and also his sons, Steven J. and his wife, Diane Hatem, Michael D. and his wife, May Hatem and James S. and his wife, Yana Hatem. He also leaves his sister, Georgette Givens, daughter-in-law, Joni Hatem, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son, Robert Hatem.
