Methuen — Nevart Apovian passed away peacefully on December 30, 2013, at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born to Mardiros and Zabel (Antreasian) Kambegian, Nevart grew up and raised her family in Methuen. She was a graduate of Searles High School and was employed by Little Fawn Cleaners and Meadowbrook Laundry as a bookkeeper.
Nev was a member of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church of North Andover, the Armenian Red Cross and the Ladies Guild. She was an avid card player with the “Fix-Its,” and would never turn down an invite to play. Her other passion was traveling the world with her husband and sisters.
Nevart was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James; her son, Richard and her two sisters, Ruth and Rose. She is survived by her son, James and wife, Ann, and her daughter-in-law, Selma. She was “Grams” to five grandchildren and “Little Grams” to nine great-grandchildren. Many loving nieces and nephews will also miss her dearly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 4, 2014, from 9 to 10 a.m. in St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church, 158 Main Street, N. Andover, MA. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, remembrance can be made to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church Building Fund, 158 Main Street, North Andover, or the Fidelis House, 25 Railroad Square, Haverhill, MA.
