North Andover — Frances B. Torrisi, 91, of North Andover and formerly of South Lawrence passed away on Sunday, December 29, at the Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center in Haverhill surrounded by her family.
Frances was born in Methuen to the late Frank and Amelia (Hamilton) on July 4, 1922. She was raised and educated in Lawrence. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Torrisi who passed away in 2001, with whom she was married to for over 50 years.
Frances worked at the Pacific Mills in Lawrence for many years. After that, she went to work for the Meadowbrook Laundry in North Andover until her retirement in the early 1980s. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. Frances was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved playing 45’s and bingo.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Budd of Beverly and Shirley Lawlor or North Andover; sister-in-laws, Carmel Monroe of Methuen and Connie Monroe of Mystic, Conn.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center in Haverhill for the exceptional care given to Frances these last 18 months.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Charles Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
