Salem, NH — Joseph P. Simon, 78, of Salem, N.H., died on Friday, January 10, at his home.
Joseph was born in Lawrence, Mass., and was a lifelong Salem resident. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Raytheon in Andover, where he worked in the plating shop. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem. Joseph owned thoroughbred racehorses and loved racing, sports and Foxwoods. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes.
Joe was the son of the late Peter and Sadie (Coury) Simon. He is survived by his sister, Doris and her husband, Charles Cooper of Derry, N.H.; brother, Michael Simon of Salem; five nieces and nephews; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 14, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Salem, N.H. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 13, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the D.A.V., P.O.
