Andover — Peter Woods Stevens, 55, of Andover died suddenly on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Lawrence General Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 2, 1957, he was the son of the late, Julian H. and Bernice (Woods) Stevens.
He graduated from Hamilton Wenham High School in 1975. He received his bachelors degree from the University Of Massachusetts Amherst where he played on the National Championship football team that went to the Pioneer Bowl in 1978. He received his graduate degrees from Bentley College. He started his career at Wang Laboratories, then he worked at Fidelity Investments for 22 years. He was currently employed by Jacobs Technology as a Sr. Director of Master Data Management for the Air Force.
He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed skiing, golfing, fishing, boating, swimming and scuba diving. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan. He loved running with his dog every morning and his greatest happiness was spending time with his family.
His survivors include his wife of 25 years, Deborah (Hill) Stevens; and his children, Danielle, Brynn and Mitchell, all of Andover; his sisters, Julia Keith and her husband, Robert, Pamela Stevens, Suzi Briden and her husband, Kirk all of St. Louis; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Samuel L. Stevens.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Free Christian Church, 31 Elm St., Andover. Burial will be private.
