Margaret Mary (Sullivan) Giordano, 63


North Andover — Margaret (Maggie) Giordano, 63, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 17, 2013. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer for ten years.

Maggie was born and raised in Methuen, the daughter of the late Atty. Donald and Madeleine Sullivan. She was a 1967 graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy and a graduate of Framingham State College with a Bachelor degree in Home Economics. She earned a Masters degree in Family and Consumer Science from the University of New Hampshire and taught for 25 years in the town of Wilmington.

She was a member of the Third Order of Mary, a lay member of the Carmelite order. She was an active member of St. Michael’s Parish in No. Andover where she was a charter member of the Eucharistic Adoration Committee, on which she served for many years. She was a cantor, taught CCD classes, and led bible study classes in her home as well as several other ministries in the parish. Maggie enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, reading, cooking for her family and friends, and doing many types of crafts. Some of her greatest enjoyments included spending summers, since 1986, at her second home in the Rangeley Lakes region of Maine. There she spent wonderful times with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Mario Giordano; her son, Mark; and her daughter, Tara. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Joyce of Connecticut, Geraldine Sullivan-Clark of Ohio, several nieces and grand nephews and nieces.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
