Richard C. King, 81


Salem, NH — Richard C. King, 81, of Salem, N.H., passed away on July 27, 2013. He was born on December 9, 1931, in Lawrence, Mass., to the late Romeo King and Mary Hayes. Richard was a Korean War veteran and served actively in the United States Navy as a radar specialist. Later he joined the Naval Reserves and served his country through the duration of the war in Vietnam and into the next decade. After his active duty he was employed by Raytheon as a technical specialist, using his expert training and knowledge of complex systems to troubleshoot radar systems throughout the United States. He continued in his employment with Raytheon for many years, until his retirement in 1995, after 36 years of service. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his four step-sons, Philip E. Thomas (Honolulu, Hawaii), Kenneth A. Thomas (Hooksett, N.H.), Mark J. Thomas (Londonderry, N.H.), and Ronald RT Thomas (Somersworth, N.H.).

ARRANGEMENTS: Richard will be laid to rest next to his wife and princess, Margaret L. King, at St. Mary’s cemetery in Lawrence in a private ceremony for family and invited guests. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his name to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
