Joseph Willwerth, 65


Westfield, MA — Joseph “Gerry” Willwerth, 65, resident of Westfield, Mass., passed away on Monday, July 29. He was born on January 17, 1948, in Medford, Mass., to Mary (Edgett) and Walter Willwerth. He graduated from Somerville High School. He owned his own carpeting business in North Adams, and later worked in Westfield in carpeting sales. Gerry was an avid golfer and Boston sports fan. He loved to spend summers at the beaches of Salisbury, Mass., and Wells, Maine, with his partner of 25 years, Harriet, and their grandson, Joshua. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Harriet Stevens of Westfield; a sister, MaryAnne Lem and her husband, Jimmy, of Merrimack,N.H.; two brothers, Bob Willwerth and his wife, Linda, of Saugus, Mass., and Jack Willwerth of North Andover, Mass.; many nephews and nieces; and his grandson, Joshua, and granddaughter, Erica.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be celebrated at Free Christian Church, 31 Elm St., Andover, Mass., on Friday, August 9, at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon at the church immediately after the Memorial Service.
