Lawrence — Kenneth P. Saitta, 61, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 30, 2014, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Boston. Ken was born in Methuen, and was the son of the late Placido J. and Carmelina (Teti) Saitta. Ken was educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1970, where he played football.
"Kenn," as he was known by family and friends, was also involved in the Boy Scouts of America when he was young, and worked as a machinist at Davis & Furber Co. in North Andover. Kenny liked to sketch, write poetry and play musical instruments.
Kenny’s religious faith and spiritual awareness was strong, attending Mass daily. He was well known in the Lawrence community, volunteering his time at the Salvation Army.
Kenny also helped out, utilizing his experiences, at the PEOPLE Recovery Center and the Point After Club. He left an impression with everyone he met, and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and John San Antonio of Derry; and his niece, Christine San Antonio; and nephew, Steven San Antonio, both of Derry.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a visiting hour on Friday, April 4, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial, at 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
