North Andover — Michael A. LeClair, 56, of Billerica and North Andover, formerly of Concord, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 in North Andover. He was the devoted father of Kyle, Kara and Brian LeClair of Billerica and cherished son of Patricia LeClair of Concord and the late, Roger LeClair.

Born in Richland, Wash., on February 27, 1957, he attended Concord, Mass. schools and was a 1975 graduate of Concord-Carlisle High School. He later attended Fitchburg State College and was a graduate of Middlesex Community College in Bedford.

Mr. LeCair worked in the automotive industry for many years, and owned several businesses, most recently Maple Street Service in Middleton.

He was a coach in Billerica Youth Lacrosse, was an avid mountain climber, and enjoyed music and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

He was the loving brother of Kim Payson of Bolton and the late, Steven LeClair; brother-in-law of Brian Payson of Bolton and Lee LeClair of Littleton; nephew of Robert Sullivan and Gloria Carrai; loving companion of 15 years of Tami Coughlin and her children, Larry, Barrie and Danielle of North Andover; former husband of Nuala LeClair of Billerica; and is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and a wonderful group of loyal friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours Thurs. March 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Funeral, Friday, March 22 from the Dee Funeral Home at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Pancreatic Research, 10 Brookline Park West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445,(www.danafarber.org). Salem, NH — Carolyn J. (Schmidt) Potter, 68, of Salem, N.H., died Thursday, May 23, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. Carolyn was born and educated in Ohio, the daughter of the late Kathryn (Ketchum) and Vincent Schmidt. She was a secretary for the Lawrence School Department. Carolyn belonged to the neighborhood bridge club and she volunteered at the Salem Boys and Girls Club. She loved spending time with her family.

Merton E. Roberts Jr., 88

Georgetown, MA — Merton E. Roberts Jr., 88, of West Newbury and formerly of Georgetown, passed away May 23, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. He was born August 14, 1924, son of of the late Sadie (Collins) Roberts and Merton E. Roberts Sr., and went through the Georgetown School system, graduating from the Perley High School. He was drafted at the age of 18 and proudly served his country during World War II with the 7th Army in France, and later transferring to the Third Army, serving under General Patton. He earned two battle stars, the European Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, the good conduct ribbon and received the rank of Corporal as a gunner on the 90mm. His outfit was called in to help with the Battle of the Bulge.

Methuen — Michael Wayne Walworth, 28, of Methuen passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted family on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House Haverhill, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that occurred on June 16, 2012. Michael was born in Methuen and was the loving son of Wayne A. Walworth and Cathy J. (Perrault) Walworth, both of Methuen. Michael was a loyal employee in the family business, Wain’s Irrigation, from a very early age right up to his accident.

1st Lt. Paul M. DeMeo, 23

Derry, NH and Fort Bragg, NC — U.S. Army Ranger 1st Lt. Paul M. DeMeo, 23, of Derry, N.H., died unexpectedly May 14, while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Paul was serving as a rifle platoon leader for Company B, 2nd Battalion, 505th Infantry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team. Born at U.S. Army Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands on Oct. 1, 1989, Paul was a 2011 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management. He was a 2007 graduate of Pinkerton High School. He joined the 2nd/505th in August 2012. Paul was a 2012 graduate of the Infantry Officer Leadership Basic Course, U.S. Army Ranger School and U.S. Army Airborne School. In his current assignment as a rifle platoon leader, Paul was responsible for leading an airborne infantry platoon capable of deploying in 18 hours to fight and win against a determined enemy. He was responsible for the health, welfare and performance of 38 paratroopers; as well as the care and accountability of more than $500,000 worth of unit equipment.

Derry, NH — Eldon S. “Barney” Morine, 89, of Derry, N.H., died Thursday, May 23, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, N.H. Barney was born and educated in Maine. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and he received a purple heart. Barney was a self employed contractor and a member of the DAV. He enjoyed fishing and camping. He was an avid Red Sox Fan and he loved dogs. He is survived by his wife, Winifred (Angwin) Morine of Derry, N.H.; his sons, Lawrence Van Auken of Windham, N.H., Wallace Van Auken and wife, Pam, of Effingham, N.H., Mark Van Auken and wife, Ronda, of Sandown, N.H.; his daughters, Wendy and husband, Guy Caswell, of Schenectady, N.Y., Karen Turner of Cobleskill, N.Y., Christine and husband, Peter Bastide, of Sandown, N.H., Tina Spires of Haverhill, Mass., Monica and husband, John Rossetti, of Windham, N.H.; his brother, Robert Morine of Florida; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews, Robert Morine, Jr. and Mike Morine.

Salem, NH — Sharon M. (Flowers) Sweet, age 64, of Salem, N.H., died Thursday at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, N.H. She was born in New Carlisle, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Wilson and Hazel Flowers. She grew up and was educated in Quebec and Montreal, Canada. She was a resident of Salem for the past 43 years. Sharon was a controller for Pinnacle Solutions in Ward Hill, Mass. She was an avid golfer. She was a member of the Scottish Highland and Crystal Springs Golf Club, and the NH Women’s Golf Association. She is survived by her husband, James Sweet of Salem, N.H.; son, James A. and his wife Phyllis Sweet of Salem, N.H.; brothers, Lloyd and his wife Judy Flowers of Canada, Gary and his wife Sharon Flowers of Canada; granddaughter, Samantha Marie Sweet; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on October 17, 1924 to the late John E. and Clara (Howell) Janes. Raised and educated in Chelsea, he was a graduate of Chelsea High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he served proudly during WWII. Following an honorable discharge, he enrolled in Wentworth Institute of Technology and graduated with the Class of 1947.

Andover, MA — Jonathan G. Leonard of Andover passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 21, at the age of 39. He was the loving son of Dr. Thomas and Lois Leonard of Andover; and beloved brother to Russell Leonard, Dr. Jeffrey Leonard, and Suzanne Vazquez; brother in-law to Dr. Angel Gangoy-Leonard and Osvaldo Vazquez; and proud uncle of Dylan and Matthew Leonard, and Oliver, Samuel, and Amelia Vazquez. He was employed at Stop and Shop where he had been a loyal employee for over 10 years. He was very active in the Special Olympics and he won numerous medals and trophies in different events through the years. He was also involved in several local bowling leagues and enjoyed spending his free time with his girlfriend, Tina, and his large group of friends from the area.

Reading, formerly of Lawrence — Helen D. (DeFusco) Rickley of Reading, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Pasqualina (Miele) and Alexander, and her sister, Evelyn. Helen had a beauty of character and personality that was noticed by everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising and loving her family. She also devoted a good part of her life to her parish church and the elementary school children of Reading at Pearl Street and Killam Schools. She served as a volunteer teacher’s aide at the two schools for almost 30 years. She served at St. Athanasius in the old Arts and Crafts group and sang in the church choir for almost 35 years.
