Lawrence — Francis W. “Frank” Carignan, 86, of Lawrence, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of Louis and Alice (Laroche) Carignan. During World War II, Frank served in the U.S. Navy and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, the 1 star point system and was honorably discharged from service.
For many years, he was a truck driver with Hemingway and Preston Trucking. Frank was a member of the Teamsters and life member of the Lawrence Elks and the French Social Club. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed playing 45’s and bowling.
The widower of Vera M. (Forman) Carignan, he is survived by his daughter, Norma V. Buote of Lawrence, Mass.; one sister, Venetta Cook of Methuen, Mass.; two grandchildren, Wendy Hannon and her companion, Bill of Nashua, N.H., and Derek Buote of Lawrence, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
