Gloria Pitocchelli, 84

Barrington, NH, formerly of Salem, NH — Gloria (Calandriello) Pitocchelli, 84, of Barrington, N.H., formerly of Salem, N.H., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Gloria was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Pasquale, and Katherine (Mazzucco) Calandriello. Gloria was also the widow of James Pitocchelli. Gloria was educated in Lawrence Schools and had worked as a cashier at the Purity Supreme Supermarket in Salem, N.H., for 28 years before retiring.

Gloria was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved taking care of her family. Gloria had a great sense of humor which she used to cover up the pain and challenges of her many illnesses. She was a woman of great strength and courage.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sciacca and her husband, Frank, of Windham, N.H., and Elaine Case and her husband, Earl, of Barrington, N.H.; her four loving grandchildren, Keri E. Batchelder of Broomfield, Colo., Samantha E. Case of Barrington, N.H., and Nathan P. Sciacca, and Dustin P. Sciacca, both of Windham, N.H., and one great-grandchild, Lily Marie Sciacca of Windham, N.H. She leaves a brother, Rocco (James) Calandriello; sister, Rita Letendre; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her very dear friend, Bernadette Paradis, owner of Compassionate Companions, a Godsend in her own right. Gloria was predeceased by her sisters, Rachel Sportum, Lucia Barcellona, and Alice Dole.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her Funeral Services will follow visiting hours at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial contribution be made to The Hyder Family Hospice House, 285 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820. It was there that Gloria spent her final days among a loving and caring staff.
